I am please to say after gaining the required evidence the OED has now entered 'DARTITIS' into the dictionary.

Don't rush out to buy the latest version here is the definition
DARTITIS (a state of nervousness which prevents a player from releasing a dart at the right moment when throwing)

Thanks for everyone's help for providing the required evidence.

Sorry the website did not post so here it is. Read the free download and do the exercises, I have tried everything known to man kind and this has helped. Plus it's free so why not try it. When you do the exercise it helps if you are looking at a dartboard and have DARTITIS on your mind. This is the one time you actually want to focus on it to get rid of it.

I have had DARTITIS for almost 6 years, ever since my win against Paul Lim at the Medalist Grand Masters World Championships. After I pushed myself to far mentally and trying to throw perfect darts every single time I hit the OCHE. Everything in your daily life, personal, marriage, relationships, job, etc, will playa huge part in you getting and attempting to get rid of DARTITIS. Darts is truly a primarily mental game, with skill coming in second. If you cannot overcome your mind and have confidence in yourself, you will never overcome DARTITIS. The harder you try to beat it, the stronger it hits back. You must come to terms with what ever emotional/mental issue you encountered at the onset of DARTITIS. Once you recognize the underlying cause of the darn disease, then you will be able to beat it. The above site I posted will help you out in your journey. The research was done by Dr's at Stanford and has been used to cure phobea's and professional athletes. Take a look at the site and best wishes to you. I hate to say it, but unfortunately I have become an unwanted expert with DARTITIS and want to help anyway I can.

I suffered from the dreaded Itis about fifteen years ago, I found to cure it you must have mostof your trailing foot on the floor if not all, keep your concentration on that more so than the darts and persist. It did work for me but you must be patient with it. Good Luck to anyone who attempts this method

An update for those of you that have been following my efforts to obtain recognition and entry to the OED for the word dartitis.
----------------------------------

Dear Mr King

Thank you for your letter concerning dartitis, the accompanying DVD, and your continuing efforts to gather earlier evidence.

As things stand we have assembled a daft entry for dartitis, and the earliest evidence remains the 1981 Darts World quotation that you supplied. At the time of writing, a decision is pending on whether this draft will go forward for publication.

Yours sincerely,

Graeme Diamond
