| Unicorn Eclipse Pro - Before Use |
 |
This picture shows the Unicorn Eclipse Pro and the Harrow’s board. You will notice the difference in the colour of the sisal and the blade wiring. But looks are not everything it's the performance that counts in this test.

 | Close up of the knife edge blade wiring – This picture shows all the wires are embedded into the sisal unlike the Winmau Blade III.
The sisal in all scoring segments is tightly compacted not allowing for segmentation colour movement.

What is the difference between the Unicorn Eclipse and Eclipse Pro? The change
in the colour of the blades that’s all.
Unicorn is never afraid to experiment to give the television viewer the
best and hence the changes in the blade construction. Initially galvanised
steel, then painted white (but this chips) to the latest nickel plate. The
latest version is shinier than other blades and therefore should give better
visibility but I think this is down to personal choice.

| Unicorn Eclipse Pro - During Use |
 | After three months heavy play the board is still in very good order. The blades have held in place and there has been no saturation or bleeding of colour scoring segments. The natural colour of the sisal does bleed through unlike the Winmau Blade III but the board is still in good playing order.

 | You could be mistaken
for thinking this board is new from this picture but it has had three months regular play on it. Turning boards regularly ensure even wear and will prolong the life of all dart boards. The Unicorn Eclipse
Pro lasts and performs the longest of all that I tested.

 | After seeing the last picture you may think
'has this board really gone through the same test?' and the answer is a definite yes. This board is starting to breakdown as shown in this picture. A large section of sisal is starting to lift but this is not in the playing area and doesn’t affect play.
You will know when it is time to change the board as the high scoring treble areas will become soft and darts will not hold firmly and you will experience a few fall outs.
At this stage change the board.
The Unicorn Eclipse Pro board wins this test.
