Hi, I suffered dartitis this year for the first time, actually I did not even know it was dartitis until now. For the last 6 months I had been trying so hard to perferct my technique that my game starting getting worse and when I tried to get back to my old technique, dartitis apeared. I can confirm that in my case it is only a mental problem. I solved in a desperate move to start releasing my dart again by imitating another players swing, this person throws with both legs together and bends his knees slightly while bringing the dart back, and releases at the same time he straightens his legs. He does not pull up his arm to aim, simply from a low arm position he brings back the dart toward his chest while bending his knees slightly and pulls his arm forward at the same time as he straightens his knees. This works because the full movement is one fluid flow, and you automatically release the dart as you start straightening your legs. It worked for me, and a week later I was able to throw again from a fixed position.
